The Model A provides great piano tone and touch at under 6 feet fits in many residential spaces comfortably. It is not a thin, whiny sound like some pianos. Want more? This thing sounds GREAT! Thanks to the ginormous tension resonator (the thing that looks like a spider) and a big soundboard, this piano really cranks out the sound. You will find brand new pianos that come out of the crate with more issues than this. You will look long and hard to find a color that is more pleasing to the eye than this. The warm wood tone of the walnut is just beautiful on this piano. This offers a richer, fuller tone that is typically found only in full grand pianos. Just refinished, action just regulated, new hammers, new shanks and knuckles, new dampers, new strings and pins put on around 10 years ago. This is a serious instrument for a musician’s musician. This provides a larger soundboard area than in comparably sized pianos from other manufacturers. Mason & Hamlin Grand Piano Model A 5’8 made in 1923 during the heyday of piano manufacturing in the USA particularly for Steinways and Masons. The tail of the piano is wider than in other instruments.

The strings and pins are clean, the hammers have lots of life left in them, no chips in the keys, the soundboard is perfect, the cabinet is nick-free, and on and on. The model B Mason & Hamlin has the sound of a much larger instrument due to unique design elements found only in Mason & Hamlin pianos.
